Biography

Jacques Hitier was a French interior designer and furniture designer born on March 28, 1917, in Paris and who died on March 6, 1999, in La Frette-sur-Seine. Patrick Favardin describes him as “one of the most endearing figures of the decorative arts scene in the second half of the 20th century.” An artist and decorator associated with the École Boulle, after World War II he specialized in designing industrial furniture for small communities and residential use, which he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and the Salon des Arts Ménagers.
