History

Royal-Lumière / Lunel

Until 1955, documents mention the R. Lunel establishments as manufacturers at 18 Rue Godot de Mauroy in Paris. Advertisements from that time indicate that their products could be purchased in all good stores.

Around 1955, Royal-Lumière (factory in Montreuil) began producing Lunel designs. The Paris address became that of the sales department.
However, there are also Royal-Lumière creations produced by Lunel.

Around 1957, Lunel and Royal Lumière adopted a new, identical font (Royal-Lumière lost its hyphen) and the same graphic charter, and Lunel became the showroom for Royal Lumière products. Some documents feature Lunel creations published by Royal Lumière, while others mention a Royal Lumière production without naming the designer.

Around 1962, advertisements for the two (separate) entities featured the same light fixtures.
In 1963, Royal Lumière was located on Rue Fontaine in Paris.
Royal Lumière light fixtures were then sold by Luminter.
