Biography

Angelo Brotto, Italy (1914-2002)

Angelo Brotto (1914 – 2002) is an Italian artist and designer known for his lighting and his work on glass.
Graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1941, he began his career painting frescoes in Montenegro commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He then collaborated with Esperia in the 1960s/1970s for whom he designs numerous lighting . His lamps with modern shapes quickly met with great success by breaking with the traditional methods of glass manufacturing in Murano. Angelo Brotto participates in numerous biennials and his resolutely modern creations are regularly exhibited.
