Aleksandar Petrovic, France (1971)

As a child, often repairing the toys of his school friends, Aleksandar wanted to create a “hospital of objects”… Then, inspired by the desire to create harmony between disparate materials and objects, and after a certain time of contemplation of various objects that surround him, he begins to sculpt, according to his desires, his state of mind or current events.

Aleksandar Petrovic creates the PETROLAND Universe, with the motto “Poetry, Dream and Action”. In this Universe gravitate all kinds of PETROSPACES, luminous sculptures emerging from his imagination, wishing to offer new life to inert and obsolete objects, from another time… and from our time, to project them into the future. A way of recycling objects from the past into machines of the future, while trying to sublimate objects abandoned by society.

Assemblies of metal, glass and lights, PETROSPACES come in several shapes and formats, to allow everyone to choose their mode of travel, in their own imagination. Light being omnipresent in her works, it illustrates cosmic energy and heat, while leaving the viewer the freedom to choose the lighting mode (“ON/OFF”, day life or night life). according to his wishes.
