Set of six chairs attributed to Gian Franco Legler, Editions Bonacina
Italy, circa 1960
History
Giovanni Bonacina began his activity in 1889 in Lurago d’Erba, north of Milan, combining two traditional trades, basketry and furniture making. His son Vittorio took over the business in the early 1950s and adapted brilliantly to the design revolution. He worked with great designers, notably Franco Albini, with whom he won a gold medal in 1951 for the “Margherita” armchair.
