History

First a sales agent for French Aluminum, Arts et Métiers engineer Steph Simon (1902-1982) opened a gallery in 1956 at 145, boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. A true pioneer in the promotion of modern furniture, he created a design office there for the design of private and industrial developments. Exclusive models from Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand, who also designs the sales space, are presented there. Steph Simon also distributes lighting by Serge Mouille, ceramics by Georges Jouve, weavings by Simone Prouvé and paper lanterns by Isamu Noguchi. The business lasted until 1974, the year when Steph Simon, then in his seventies, sold his gallery frequented by a rare and elitist clientele.
